Ionic magnesium or oxygen therapy can help with migraines.

You're welcome. If you read down the page, you will also find a link/reference to the ionized magnesium.

Bernard

The link was brill Very Happy

Got hit by the start of a migraine last night. Head starting to pound, eyes sore, i took a couple of useless pills & went to bed to wait for the worst to come.

I remembered your oxygen link & rang a neighbour to ask if i could borrow her husbands oxygen tank, as he is away on holiday.

2 minuites later she came round with it.

........Well

It helped. After about an hour, i was out of my bed, sitting on YE with only a mild headache.

Never in a million years did i think it would help, as i've suffered from them since i was a child. No pills have ever been able to stop it from developing, & for the first time in 20 odd years, i wasn't as sick as a dog & stuck in the dark.

I shall look further into the Ironised Magnesium link.

Thank you xxx

Shocked

Lou/Bernard,

I have had migraines since I was 8 years old and if I knew something would work OMG I would run off and get whatever it was Shocked

I can't believe it worked so well.

Would it work for me though because I normally wake up with mine, so would it be to late at that stage?

I'm not sure.

I get them any time of the day.

My neighbour uses an oxygen tank for sleep apnea, so i pinched it while he was away.

I started to feel one coming on last night, so took my pills & got into bed before it really kicked off.

I'd try before you buy.
I read that it either helps some people or doesn't do a thing.

I've had them since i was 7 & no prescription meds have ever helped, i usually have to ride it out.

I still have a mild headache, but never in my life has anything helped before Shocked

I'm stunned, coz i never thought it would do anything.

You could take this to the doc & ask to try it out.

I'll be ringing the doc this morning.

Mine build up and I know one is looming due to the aura's and I get very hyped up:?

I take the pizotifen but I will admit it works because it knocks me out cold.

My migraines are extremely weird, but they are always the same.

I've asked Bernard if I can explain mine to him so I can try and get some advise. I live in dread of mine Lou, I can honestly tell you that everynite I go to sleep my last thought is 'Please don't let me wake up with a migraine'.

If I knew oxygen would help I wud try it.

Awesome! Glad it helped. Smile

Ionized magnesium should be available at any decent vitamin shop (or you can try eating lots of fresh spinach salads!).

@Millie - have you ever had a sleep study to check for sleep apnea? As I understand it, they don't check for this during hospital VEEGs unless they are specifically looking for it. It sounds to me like there could be a possibility of oxygen deprivation overnight. At any rate, getting an oxygen tank and trying it is likely cheaper* than getting tested with a sleep study.

* at least here in the USA.
